How to find my audience according to Bing AI and Bard

 Everyone seems to be talking about generative AI. Some people said I should talk about it, and while it seems like a cool tech, I wasn’t sure what I should use it for. Well, I decided to see if it could help me grow my podcast. Here is what happened. I first asked “what is the Frug Life?” The intention here is to make sure the AI understands the show that needs advice.


The Frug Life Podcast is a treasure trove of financial wisdom, and you can find potential listeners in various places. Here are some suggestions:

  1. Online Communities:

    • Explore personal finance forums, subreddits, and Facebook groups where people discuss frugal living, budgeting, and smart money practices. Engage in conversations and share the podcast with those seeking financial advice.

I think the one thing this response is lacking is specificity. These are the same talking points everyone uses, and they are good, but what forms in particular, where exactly should I go?

I think appearing on any of these would be fantastic. But my actual likelihood of getting any of these shows is pretty minimal. I mean, I love Planet Money, but I’m not like an economist or scholar or anything like that. I’m not really sure what they would have me on for.  So I asked if there were any smaller shows I could partner with.

And oh goodness, I think this DM is very presumptuous. The collaboration ideas listed are pretty funny, a co hosted webinar? I’m going to host a webinar with Paula Pant? About what exactly? I think for this email to actually work, I would need to pick a specific topic on which I am an expert and gear it towards that. Even so, I don’t think Paula really has the time for a small time creator like me. 


I'm probably not going to try to reach out to Paula, or any of these other creators. I don't have a ton of confidence it will work. Moreover, maybe I just don't have it in me to do what I need to to succeed. Tim Ferris proposes an experiment along similar lines.  He invited a class of students to reach out to the most famous person you can. The students who really did try had surprising results. Maybe I need to venture out and try new things. But for now, I’m probably just going to blog about it. Who knows, maybe Paula will see this.
