My Two-Hour Book Project: A (Rambling) Success Story
As I've mentioned a few times on the show, I read a book that promised you could write a complete book in just two hours. I was skeptical, but the method made sense: dictate your thoughts, since you can talk much faster than you can type.
I'm excited to announce that I've finally finished this project! It took a lot more than two hours, but I've completed a "book of sorts" using the voice-dictation method. The title is Principles of The Frug Life, and you can read the whole thing for free right now.
The AI Dilemma
The major breakthrough that allowed me to finish this book was the help of AI. Any book written in two hours is, by necessity, going to be a rambling, incoherent mess. But if you take that mess and throw it through AI, it will give you something presentable.
The problem, though, is that the AI totally sanitizes your voice. It removes the personality and the... well, the Frug Life from the text, resulting in something that is perhaps a bit subpar. I'll let you be the judge of that!

Is More Time the Answer?
Now that I've finished the two-hour challenge, I’ve picked up another book that suggests writing a book in 48 hours. I failed the two-hour challenge miserably (I spent way more time, and the result is more of a pamphlet than a book), so maybe I just need to up the ante.
Even just talking in this short time frame, my voice is starting to feel tired, so two hours of straight talking is a lot. I wonder what kind of book I could create if I spent 48 focused hours on it, mixing talking with detailed typing and editing. Maybe I'll try that experiment next, and we'll have another book to talk about!
A Real Book in the Works
Or maybe this is all just a fun distraction. You see, I'm actually in the process of editing another personal finance book that I wrote completely on my own, with no help from AI. This book took a ton of time to write, a good amount of time researching, and it's taking even longer to edit.
You might even be able to get a free copy of the pre-release version right now. Why not give it a shot? Hopefully, I remember to remove this link if it stops being free!
